Child Custody Matters

Not all family cases involve a divorce.  Many people have children together and are not married.  We call these cases “child custody” or “paternity” cases.   In these types of cases, an unmarried couple who are no longer together may dispute child support, living arrangements, or even the real identity of the child’s father.  Whether you are the mother or the father of the child, you need good representation to make sure YOUR rights and the rights of the child are adequately protected.  You should contact me, a family law attorney here in St. Francois County, to assist you.

What will a divorce cost?

I try to keep my fees to a flat, predictable fee.  If you have a non-contested divorce, meaning you and your spouse have agreed on the general division of property and child custody, I can work on a flat-fee.  If the matter is contested, I will charge you at a reasonably hourly rate.  A contested matter is generally any matter in which the other party retains an attorney for assistance.

As with anything, the cost of a Saint Francois County Divorce and Family Law Attorney should not be the primary consideration.  However, you can always feel comfortable knowing that I am working for your at a fair and reasonable rate.
